5 Days tour From Marrakech to Essaouira and Merzouga Sahara desert

Overview

The 5 days tour starts from Marrakech to Essaouira. In Essaouira, you can discover the old city and wonderful beaches. On day 2 we drive to Ouarzazate, known as “Holywood of Morocco” and also called the gate to the desert.

On day 3 we drive from Ouarzazate to Merzouga via the valley of the Draa, a valley of thousand palm trees. On the way, you can enjoy different landscapes. Once we are in Merzouga we go for a short camel trek in the sand dunes and enjoy the sunset from the top of the dunes, where we will overnight in a desert camp.

The next day we go back to the hotel for breakfast, after breakfast, we visit the Gnawa village then we drive to Risani and the gorge of Todra where you can have a short walk if you wish. After breakfast in the Dades valley, we drive to Marrakech via Tizi Ntichka.

5 Days tour From Marrakech to Essaouira and Merzouga desert Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech – Essaouira

We pick you up at your accommodation at 09:00. Then we drive to Essaouira. We will visit the old medina of Essaouira and Mogador and then we spend a night in the Riad Kafila.

Day 2: Essaouira – Ouarzazate

The next day we drive to Ouarzazate, by crossing Marrakech and the high Atlas mountains. We will discover the most beautiful valley Onila and kasbah of Galoui then have lunchtime in the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. After discovering what Ouarzazate has to offer we spend the night in Ecolodge l’ile de Ouarzazate.

Day 3: Ouarzazate – Merzouga

We drive to Merzouga via the valley of the Draa. On the way, we will enjoy different landscapes, mountains, small Berber villages and the desert. Once we arrive in Merzouga we will have a camel trek to enjoy the sunset in the sand dunes and spend the night in the desert camp. In the morning we come back to the hotel Kenz Remal for breakfast.

Day 4: Merzouga – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we are going to visit the village of Gnaoui music and painting artists. It’s a wonderful place. On the way to the Dades valley, we will visit Rissani and continue the road to Tinghir where we will discover the Todra Gorge and where we will have a short walk in the wonderful fields. Later on, we drive to the Dades valley and spend the night in a wonderful riad called Riad du Dades.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast, we have a one hour walk in this beautiful valley and inside the rock, which is called “finger monkey”, then drive back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate.

Desert Morocco Adventure organize only private tours so please if you are traveling with 2 adults ( in total 3 persons) and you are planning to book with us a tour make a booking in the tour schedule for 3 pax and not in a group of 5 unless you are 5 persons in total.
