Marrakech, where different cultures and crafts merge, is the starting point of this 3-day tour to the imperial city of Fes. On the first day of our desert tour, we will drive through the dramatic landscapes of the mountains and see admirable examples of Moroccan architecture such as the oldest ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The valley of 1000 kasbah is dotted with flowering rose bushes along the way. We will come across the most beautiful rose gardens in the valley near Kelat Mgouna. During this trip, you will visit the most spectacular sights of Southeast Morocco such as the Todra Gorge and the Dades canyon. You will enjoy changing the landscape in the hills to palm groves, and the desert-like plateaus on the way to Merzouga. A short camel ride in the dunes of Erg Chebbi is on the program.

Once we reach the Sahara, you can climb the dunes to watch the sun while sinking below the horizon. In the evening you can enjoy a traditional dinner in the desert next to the campfire where local Berbers will entertain you with Berber music. If the weather permits, you can spend the night under the stars. The next day we wake you up early to witness the sunrise over the dunes before heading to Fes. We drive through the Ziz Valley, which is bordered by palm trees and where ksour and sublime kasbahs rise and form an emerald dry area that offers a spectacular sight.

Youssef Morocco travel guide

“Icho was born and raised in the desert. In this vast area learn to be a good driver and guide. He is more than just an expert in Morocco’s geography, he also knows its history and culture deeply.

For him, guiding people through Morocco is a way to share his culture and identity with everyone.

Thousands of years before Islam, an ancient civilization existed in Morocco to this day. Today it is called Berbers or Berbers and their language is Tamazight. Icho considers it one of the most important aspects of Moroccan culture because it is deeply rooted in their history.

That is why he always tries to make sure that during his tours he emphasizes their cultural significance by explaining landmarks and facts in history and daily life among Berbers today. ”
