Visit the 91 metre tall Belfry of Ghent in centre of the city. From the tower you have a magnificant view over the city. You can also pay a ticket to sail by boat along the Leie and admire the ancient houses with the typical stairwalls.
Enjoying a Kwak in a bar. This is actually a type of beer which is served in a tall glass. Here is a story, it can happen when you ask for a Kwak the waiter ask for your shoe. He put it in a basket and hang it close to the ceiling until you have given back the glass. They do so because many tourists take the glass back home because it is rare and beautiful

Visit the Counts Castle “het Gravensteen”. It is a amazing castle in the center of Ghent. The castle was built in 1180 by count Philip of Alsace. This historical castle has a museum inside that can be visited. It is open every day from 10am to 6pm during summer period and from 9 am to 5pm in winter period. The entry is not free, it may cost about 7 euros. On the terrace of the castle you have an excellent view over the city and the neibourghood « Patershol ». There used to be a monastry and it is nice to walk in the narrow streets covered with cobblestones. It used to be a neighbourhood for older people and students but with a big effort houses are now renovated and hold excellent restaurants
