For 3 days you will be trekking in the Atlas mountains.
You meet our team after breakfast and when all our luggage is packed we begin walking across the area towards Tacheddirt. Soon the trail starts to increase once we rise up to Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m). We then descend towards the village of Ouaneskra and proceed for about half an hour to Tacheddirt (3000m) where we usually camp close to the river. 5 hours walk.
Day 3: Tacheddirt to Azib Likemt
After early breakfast, we begin our first hard day on our trip. We will hike to one of the highest passes in the Toubkal area, called Tizi Likemt (3555m). Some almonds may be offered on top and we continue our journey towards the shelters of Likemnt where we set up our camp.
Day 4: Azib Likemt to Amsouzert
We walk along the Ourain valley, 3100m, which offers excellent views from the top over the Berber village as well as the Toubkal mountains in the south. We trek right down to the village of Amsouzert, where we stay in a local house nearby the village.
Day 5: Amsouzert – Dades Valley
After breakfast, our driver will pick you up at your accommodation. We drive over the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass towards Ouarzazate and to the final destination of this day: the Dades valley. Along the way, he drives you through stunning and panoramic scenery with colorful rocks and quiet oases, along with Berber villages and impressive kasbahs and through the Valley of Roses. Overnight in a kasbah in the Dades Valley.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Erg Chebbi
After breakfast, our driver will take you to the Todra gorge. The Todra Gorge is a narrow passage on either side rock formations of up to 300 meters straight up. There is also a small river running through the gorge which is mostly dry during summer. After a stop in this gorge, we drive to the dunes of the Erg Chebbi desert, east of the village of Merzouga. These dunes are more than 90 meters high and are always spectacular, but early in the morning or at sunset they are at their best. Once we arrive at the hotel, we take a short camel trek to the desert camp. After enjoying the sunset on top of the dunes you will have dinner in the camp. Overnight in a Berber tent.
Day 7: Erg Chebbi – Ouarzazate
After sunrise and breakfast, you can have some time to try snowboarding off the dunes if you wish. Hereafter you ride back tot he hotel by camel. We are heading towards Rissani, Alnif and on the way, we visit the village Nkob with its 45 kasbahs. Here we drive along the valley of the Draa with thousand of palm trees along the river. Before arriving at the village of Agdz we visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalt. Then we drive to Ouarzazate via Ait Saoun. Overnight at a guest house.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou
After breakfast, we start our day with quads or VTT between the Oasis of Fint and the village of Ait Ben Haddou, throughout beautiful trails, and along with Berber villages. The Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is famous. As it is built on a hill you can walk to the top and have a beautiful view over the mountains, the desert and the Kasbah’s verdant terraced gardens which were also used as an ideal film location for films such as Gladiator and Alexander the Great. Not so far away from Ait Benhaddou lies the kasbah of the Gloui family in the village of Tamdaght. This family ruled over Southern Morocco for half a century in the late 1800s. Drive back to Ouarzazate and stay in the same guest house.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ourika – Marrakech
After breakfast, we drive again over the Atlas Mountains to the valley of Ourika. Mаnу visitors lоvе the Berber villages аnd find its реорlе vеrу friendly and very wаrm. Each year plenty of climbing persons are attracted by this place, thus, its the ideal place for good hiking. The best walking trails are up to the seven waterfalls. After hiking and discovering all that this amazing valley has to offer, we will go back to Marrakech where you will spend a night in a hotel.
Dag 10: Marrakech – Ouzoud Valley
On this day we take a day trip to the most beautiful waterfalls in the province of Azilal. The Ouzoud Falls (110m) are the highest in North Africa and one of the very best things that Morocco has to offer, located about 150 km in the northeast of Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains and which represent one of the most amazing natural areas in this region. The surrounding countryside gives oleander, olive groves, tamaris woods, red cliffs, apes, and doves. You will walk from the top of the waterfalls to the bottom where some refreshing natural pools are located, an ideal place for a swim. There are a few restaurants where you can enjoy your lunch with a view of the waterfalls from their terraces. On the road back to Marrakesh via Demnate, we drive 6 kilometers along S508 to Imi-n-Ifri. Imi-n-Ifri is another wonderful place to visit en route. It is a natural rock bridge formed over a gorge 1.8 million years ago with an underground cave. Later, we’ll watch as the sun paints the mountains with a golden color.
